I’m honored to have been nominated for GOPAC’s 2026 Emerging Leaders Class.

This program brings together Republican legislators from across the country who are committed to advancing ideas that make our communities more prosperous. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and work alongside leaders who are dedicated to serving their states and constituents.

I have a few very important things to share with you sll this week:

1. So many constituents came to the Capitol this week to meet with me and let their voices be heard. Some of these constituents included the Homebuilders, the Smyrna and LaVergne Fire Departments, Child Advocacy groups, Easter Seals, the Tennessee Medical Association, and Journey’s Community Living.

2. The Senate Health Committee heard a presentation from Commissioner Marie Williams from the Department of Mental Health. Tennessee is down about 1,000 overdose deaths in comparison to previous years. In 2024, about 3,500 people died from an overdose, this year that number is down to about 2,500.

3. The Senate Energy, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Committee heard testimony from former University of Tennessee football coach, Phillip Fulmer, and Predators player Mike Fisher in support of providing additional funding for TWRA. This bill passed through my committee.

4. On the Senate Floor yesterday, I passed SB 2558 which allows our state veterinarian to step in to protect our livestock from disease outbreaks, while still protecting our farmers.

5. March 17th is Ag Day on the Hill! Come visit the Capitol and participate in the festivities!

This Tuesday, I passed SB 422 through the Commerce Committee with an almost unanimous vote. SB 422 would require insurance companies to cover additional prosthetics for children that would allow them to run, jump, climb, and play with their peers. I am incredibly proud to be the sponsor of this bill and to advocate for these children.
