Murfreesboro, TN, November 15 — State Senator Shane Reeves today announced that Bedford County will receive a grant in the amount of $18,810 from the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) Court Security Grant Program. Bedford County will also provide a ten percent match for the projects covered by the grant.
“I am pleased the local courthouse in Bedford County was selected to receive these important funds to upgrade its current security measures,” said Senator Reeves. “The new package scanner will help make the courthouse safer for all the citizens who use the courthouse. I appreciate the work of Judge Durard and Sherriff Swing to secure these funds.”
According to the grant award letter, the funds will be used to purchase a PointScan Package Scanner.
“The safety of our communities is a top priority and measures like this to enhance security are a step in the right direction towards safer communities,” added Reeves.
