Murfreesboro, TN, November 15 — State Senator Shane Reeves and Representative Rick Tillis today announced that Marshall County will receive a grant in the amount of $48,862.42 from the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) Court Security Grant Program. Marshall County will also provide a ten percent match for the projects covered by the grant.
“These grant dollars will help Marshall County better address safety concerns for citizens, staff, and judges who use the courthouse,” said Senator Reeves. “I appreciate the work of Judge Bussart and other local officials for securing these important funds. The safety of our communities is a top priority and measures like this to enhance security are a step in the right direction towards safer communities.”
According to the grant award letter, the funds will be used update bulletproofing and purchase surveillance cameras.
“I am grateful that our community was selected to receive this sizable grant award through an extremely competitive application process,” said Representative Tillis. “The monies will address safety concerns for residents who utilize our facility; they will also create an environment that will allow members of Marshall County’s judicial system to focus on important tasks instead of worrying about their well-being.”
